Do you know that the water that runs into the storm sewer at the end of your street goes directly into lakes and streams? It is not cleaned or purified in any way before reaching those streams and rivers.
Did you also know that one contaminant to that water is pooch poo – or more nicely put – pet waste? It is important to pick it up – but then what? You can flush it, compost it at a commercial composting site (it is not recommended to put it in your backyard composter), or put it in the trash. These days you can use a biodegradable bag to transport it to its final resting place.
It may seem silly, but picking up your pet waste is a valuable contribution to a better environment.
As a note: Notyak is planning to start selling biodegradable pet waste bags in the near future.
